Here’s your typical Azure infrastructure migration in seven steps:

#1 Discovery

We evaluate your current infrastructure, using Microsoft’s industry-leading tools. We map out your IT infrastructure, helping you decide which applications and servers to prioritise for your Azure migration.

#2 Assessment

We go through and assess your workload requirements to identify dependencies on other systems and any migration issues.

#3 Planning

This step is about getting your requirements in order, including the tools and target platform you’ll need. We agree on what to migrate and in which order. We make sure you’re involved so that everything is planned in the right way for your business.

We figure out the amount of resource you’ll need to run your migrated workloads in Azure, working out the perfect balance between cost and performance.

Finally, we plan according to your business’ requirements for each workload, for instance:

  • Is downtime acceptable? If so, when and for how long?
  • What are your on-going availability requirements following migration?
  • What are your on-going disaster recovery requirements following migration?

#4 Transformation and optimisation

We identify workloads and applications that can be re-platformed to Platform as a Service services. We identify any optimisation tasks that can be completed based on the features of your target platform.

#5 Migration

Your migration plan is put into action and your target platform is given more resources – all this to ensure a seamless journey to Azure with minimum business disruption.

#6 Optimisation

Once done, we make sure that Azure is optimised for your ongoing usage.

#7 Handover to you for ongoing management

We document your solution from start-to-finish then run a handover session with your in-house IT team so that they can be confident to take the reins and manage your new Azure system.
